Choosing the Right Door Hardware

Handing

If you will be using a lever for your door, you will need to know if your door is a Right Hand or a Left Hand door.

Stand outside the room or house facing the door. It doesn't matter if the door swings in or out.

  • If the hinges are on the right you need a Right-Hand door lever.
  • If the hinges are on the left, you need a Left-Hand door lever.

Even if the lever is on the inside of the house/room, you must stand outside of the door to determine the door's handing.
